John Steinbeck
I finished reading "The Grapes of Wrath" a couple of weeks ago- John Steinbeck is a fantastic author and I can't recommend his books enough. This isn't the greatest drawing in the world- it's odd because I worked on this at an angle, then when it's upright it looks different?!

Allo!
This is my favourite poet from the town I'm currently working in. His work includes a tribute to the Tay Railway bridge disaster and he is widely considered to be one of the world's worst poets, ever. He would stand on street corners selling his poems on scraps of paper. His best seller was a poem about soap. He is... William Topaz Mcgonagall. Poet.
Here is a link to his fan page -

Mission 006
Hey everyone, it's been a while! I've found myself quite busy these days and completely forgot about the blog. For that, I am sorry. I still have an idea for the Blob challenge but in the meantime if you are looking for something new to work on, here is a new mission:
Authors. I find they are rarely represented in visual form (except for the image on the back) so the new challenge is to illustrate an author, any author!
Take a look at this website for inspiration: http://heyoscarwilde.com/

Mission 005
Hello all, so its back to me to come up with a new 'mission'. Seems this blog is dying so I'll say this: If no one responds to this in the next 2 weeks I'm 'pulling the plug' (not to sound mean spirited, its just hard to keep something going that isn't working).
ANYWAYS- here is the next mission: I've stumped upon a website called "Travisty's Beard" (http://travistysbeard.blogspot.com/search/label/What%20Do%20You%20See%20In%20This%20Shape%3F) which is very similar to what we are doing here. I thought I'd borrow a challenge they did: Create an image with the shape shown above- it can be rotated, moved, scaled- it just has to include the shape in some way. NO distortion please... take a look at the website to see what they did.
Good luck- keep drawing.

Mission 005
Since I love doodling human faces/ heads, I've decided our next mission is draw a portrait of your family member.
** It doesn't have to be a human; it can be a pet too!**
Go go go! :D

Mission 004
I’d love if more people participated in these drawing themes, so I hope my topic is enticing.
Design a character, and their accompanying vehicle.

Vacation
Hey guys! I'm back from the woods. This one I did a couple weeks ago for "vacation". I never got past the sketch phase, but figure it's probably better that I keep up with the challenges instead.
This was inspired by a dream I had 1st semester grad year. I was on a cruise ship with Sam Bond, Martin Gilbert and John Oman. Our ship was hit by a massive storm, somehow I was separated and floated through the stormy night on a raft. When morning came I discovered I was floating near an island on glass smooth water, watching the reflecting silhouettes of moored boats. The second half of the dream took place wandering the interior of the island.

Mission 003
I've been working on a new comic lately, so I've decided for this week's theme we're going to move from illustrations to comic strips :)
Subject can be anything, but in a comic strip form. GO.
P.S. - Steph, I expect lots from you.

Kyoto, Japan
It took me quite a while to think about what to draw for this mission. Then I saw Chelsea's post, and it inspired me to create this drawing. :)
I have always wanted to visit Japan, but I never manage to save up enough money to go... (Or I'd spend the money travelling to other places like Singapore and NYC.) Hopefully someone will take me there for honeymoon one day...
I also hope I can fall asleep after this post... [argh... stupid coffee...]
